I love this dish because of its savory and spicy flavors. People say that this dish originated in North Africa and is very similar to an Italian version known as “eggs in purgatory.” While eggs in purgatory is made with marinara and crushed red pepper, shakshuka is made with chiles and tomato. Either sound good to me.

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 package naan 4 loaves
- ½ onion
- 4 small wax peppers or 1 jalapeño
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons puréed chipotle in adobo
- 1 can 14 oz diced fire roasted tomatoes
- 1 can 14 oz tomato sauce
- 3 oz feta crumbles
- 4 eggs
- 2 tablespoons Cilantro
- 2 Scallions

Instructions
- Dice onion and wax peppers (or jalapeño). Finely chop cilantro and scallions. Purée chipotle in adobo in a food processor.
- In a large frying pan, brown beef and onions. add adobo, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, spices and feta.
- Make holes for each egg and crack each egg in its hole.;Place the frying pan in a 375 degree oven and Cook 8-10 min until eggs are cooked to your liking (I prefer over hard).
- Drizzle olive oil on naan. Spread olive oil with damp paper towel. Cook naan 2-3 minutes flipping bread half way through.;Top Shakshuka with scallions and cilantro and serve.
