Ingredients
French Toast
- 6 Slices of bread such as Brioche or Challah
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
Filling
- 4 apples Think Granny Smith, Pink Lady, or Honeycrisp
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions
Apple Pie Topping
- Peel and slice apples. The average apple consists of 8 slices per apple. Toss apples with lemon juice
- Take ¼ cup of the water and mix with corn starch to create a slurry. Pour the slurry and additional water into a large pot.
- Add sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg and bring to a boil for approximately 2 minutes.
- Add in apples, mix, return to boil, cover, and simmer until apple slices are fork tender, approximately 5 minutes.
French Toast
- Cut bread into 1 inch thick slices.
- whisk together eggs, cinnamon, and milk and soak slices of bread for 2-3 minutes.
- In a nonstick pan, cook soaked slices on medium high heat 1-2 minutes each side until golden brown.
