Longer Lasting Fresh Herb Storage
This is my favorite trick for herbs like cilantro and parsley. Give your fresh herbs a longer shelf life by storing them in vases in a refrigerator.
Yield: 0
Instructions
- When you bring the herbs home from the grocery store (or your local farmers market!) simply snip off the ends and place them in a glass with water.
- I like to reuse the green plastic bags you place produce in at the store. Cut approximately 5 inches off open end of the bag and gently place it over your bouquet of herbs like a little hat.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 weeks.
- Wash the herbs as you use them. To ensure longevity, remove herbs stems and leaves with brown spots and replace the water as needed.
